Man among Men. by Philip reeves.

He entertained millions over fifty odd years,
A jovial giant beloved by his peers.
he starred in film on stage and t.v.
he was funny and kind, a true Gentleman He.

With effortless grace, full of wit and of charm,
His best loved performance came in Emmerdale Farm.
Now the curtain has fallen, at last its the end,
and all those who loved Him must grieve for their Friend.

He entertained and enthralled us for near sixty years,
Filling us all with laughter and tears,
he played Heroes and Villains with easy aplomb,
he thrilled in a war film about the Dambusters Bomb

He acted in Crossroads and in Mother makes Three,
In Emergency Ward 10 he was the Handsome Rennie M.D.
He was in Robin Hood, the Avengers and a Family at War,
To the Manor Born, Lovejoy and Much More.

During His spare time,his Hog he would ride,
Once surrounded by Bison; They were on every side,
A scary encounter, that filled Him with Glee,
out on his Harley,was where he loved to be.

He filled us with laughter, with anger and passion,
But his "Hells Elders" t-shirt was His favourite Fashion.
He acted his way into all of our hearts,
With Comedy and drama and romantic 'parts'.

Though now He has gone, His work still remains,
we don't have to miss him; We can see him again,
And though we WILL miss him, we can lessen the pain,
We can watch all his characters again and again.

So Richard; we thank You for all You have done,
To give so many pleasure, to share in the fun.
And now each time we see You on T.V. once again,
We'll be well reminded' that you were;
A Man among Men.
